Program Overview
- Established in 1993.
- Have performed over 1,300 transplants since program inception; 160 performed in 2008 making our program one of the largest in the U.S.
- Extensive experience performing autologous and allogeneic transplants including related, unrelated and umbilical cord blood transplants.
- First program in North America accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cell Therapy and only program to be re-accredited three times.
- Certified by the National Marrow Donor Program as a transplant center, and a regional bone marrow collection center.
- Program is part of the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Trial Network; an NIH sponsored consortium of stem cell transplant programs participating in multi-institutional trials.
- Actively involved in clinical trials and transitional research projects that explore state-of-the-art therapies addressing optimal stem cell sources, management of specific diseases, and improvement in supportive care.
- Full-service clinic where bone marrow biopsy, catheter placements, chemotherapy infusions, transfusions, transplants, and other procedures take place.
- Bilingual physicians, clinical and support staff.
