Texas Transplant Institute is committed to cutting-edge research and exemplary education. We offer on-going continuing medical education programs, as well as graduate medical education residency and fellowship programs.
Continuing Medical Education
Liver Tumor Consortium
Forum for healthcare providers involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with liver tumors. The multidisciplinary team consists of transplant surgeons, general surgeons with special interest in solid organ tumor, interventional radiologists, oncologists, and a coordinating nurse practitioner; meets twice monthly.
Grand Rounds
Presentation offering up-to-date information on diagnosis and treatment options in various aspects of organ or stem cell transplantation; meets quarterly.
Organ Transplantation Clinicopathologic Conference
Patient case presentations offering up-to-date information on diagnosis and treatment options for end-stage kidney, liver and heart disease, and patients with organ transplantation-related complications; meets monthly.

Graduate Medical Education
Kidney Transplant Residency Program
Texas Transplant Institute offers an AST-approved Renal Transplant Surgical Fellowship training program.
A residency rotation is offered for surgery and urology residents from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Brooke Army Medical Center, Wilford Hall Medical Center and William Beaumont Hospital.
Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program
The Heart Failure and Transplant program offers a rotation for cardiology fellows from Brooke Army Medical Center.
Adult Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Fellowship Program
The Adult Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Program offers a rotation for hematology/oncology fellows from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Pediatric Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Fellowship Program
The Pediatric Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Program offers a rotation for pediatric hematology/oncology fellows from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the University of Arkansas.
